Jerusalem: City of Peace" We present to you this limited edition city of Jerusalem mother of pearl sculpture, handmade by Bethlehem Bible artist Ghassan Salsa'a. It is the third sculpture this artist made since 1999.When he made a sculpture just like it that was represented to his Holiness Pope John Paul II during his Holiness first historical visit to the Holy city of Bethlehem on March 23,1999.
The second Jerusalem city
sculpture that he made was presented to president Clinton and his wife
during their first visit to Bethlehem on December 16, 1999.But we
do not have the picture for that date. We believe It is being displayed
at the white house now. The artist started to work on this sculpture
right after the September 11th,terrorist attack on America and while
his home land was going through the worst cycle of violence.
He carved a Dove of Peace with an olive branch in her beak flying in the sky of Jerusalem. Hoping that his Dove of peace will bring peace to the city of Peace and to the world.
